Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Rejuv Head Spa in Calabasas, California—a sanctuary where healing begins at the scalp. Below you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked Head Spa questions.
1. What is a Head Spa, and how is Rejuv different?
A head spa is a luxurious, therapeutic scalp treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, and nurtures the scalp, promoting circulation, reducing buildup, and restoring balance.
At Rejuv Head Spa, we offer comprehensive scalp and hair treatments inspired by traditional Japanese rituals, incorporating acupressure, lymphatic drainage, multi-sensory techniques to restore balance and promote deep relaxation and healing from within. We do not offer cuts or color—our sole focus is true scalp and hair wellness.
2. What should I expect during my first visit?
You’ll receive a personalized scalp analysis followed by a deeply relaxing, multi-step treatment. Expect massage, steam, exfoliation, and high-performance scalp products chosen just for you. You’ll leave feeling refreshed—body, mind, and scalp.
3. What should I do before my Head Spa Session?
We recommend, that you do not shampoo your hair before the session, we’ll need natural oils and buildup to assess your scalp condition. Arrive ~10 minutes early, and please remove jewelry.
4. What scalp conditions do you treat?
We help clients with a wide range of scalp concerns, including dryness, flaking, buildup, sensitivity, inflammation, excessive oil, shedding, and hair thinning. Every treatment is tailored to your unique scalp condition using professional-grade tools and only the very best organic products.
At Rejuv, we use top-tier quality organic products, from the Milbon Gold Range—a luxury Japanese line known for its advanced scalp technology, clean formulations, and high-performance botanical ingredients. Milbon Gold treatments support a healthy scalp microbiome, gently detoxify, and nourish the scalp without irritation. This line is ideal for clients with sensitivity or long-term scalp imbalances, and it complements both restorative and hair growth treatments beautifully.
5. Will my hair be wet afterwards? Is a blow-dry included?
Our head spa session includes a rough, non-styling dry; a full style or blowout is available as a separate service
6. Can I get a Head Spa treatment if I have braids, wigs or extensions?
For the best results, we recommend that clients remove any braided hairstyles, wigs, or extensions before their Head Spa session. Our treatments require full access to the scalp to provide deep cleansing, relaxation, and therapeutic benefits. Performing the service on braided or covered hair can limit results and may affect the integrity of the hairstyle or extensions.
7. How Often Can I Have a Head Spa?
Your ideal Head Spa frequency depends on your scalp condition, lifestyle, and wellness goals. The scalp naturally renews every 28–35 days, making regular treatments essential for balanced scalp health and optimal hair growth.
-
- Oily or congested scalps: Weekly to bi-weekly treatments help regulate sebum, remove buildup, and maintain follicle clarity.
- Dry or sensitive scalps: Bi-weekly to monthly visits help restore moisture balance and strengthen the scalp’s natural barrier.
- Stress or hair loss concerns: More frequent sessions support circulation, reduce tension, and encourage healthier follicle activity.
At Rejuv, our scalp and hair products are skin-grade, extremely gentle, and dermatologically balanced, making them safe for more frequent use. Each treatment is customized for your scalp and hair type—whether oily, dry, or balanced—ensuring every product precisely meets your scalp’s needs during the session.
For Milbon Deep Hair Conditioning Treatments, results are designed to last through a 5-week cycle, supported by weekly at-home care vials to maintain strength, smoothness, and shine between visits.
8. How long should I wait to have head spa treatment after hair coloring or chemical treatments?
All our products are safe for treated hair. However, we recommend waiting at least a week after coloring or chemical services to avoid color lift during detoxing.
9. Who should avoid Head Spa treatment?
We recommend avoiding Head Spa treatments if you have any open wounds, active scalp infections, lice, contagious conditions, or severe sunburn on the scalp. Clients who cannot lie down for an extended period of time, or who have uncontrolled medical conditions (such as high blood pressure, severe migraines, or recent head injuries), should also refrain from treatment until cleared by a
physician.
Additionally, if you’ve recently undergone chemical treatments, surgery, or medical procedures affecting the scalp area, please wait until the skin has fully healed. When in doubt, consult your doctor before booking.
10. Who is a good candidate for Procell Hair Restoration treatment?
Procell® is ideal for anyone experiencing thinning hair, early-stage hair loss, or a weakened scalp environment due to stress, hormones, or aging. It’s suitable for both men and women.
11. What types of hair loss cannot be treated with Procell Hair Restoration treatment?
Conditions such as advanced scarring alopecia, long-term baldness, may not respond to treatment, since the follicles are no longer capable of producing hair.
12. How many Procell Hair Restroration treatments will I need to see results?
For best results, we recommend a series of 5–6 treatments, spaced about two weeks apart, to cover the natural hair growth cycle.
13. Is there a downtime after Procell Hair Restoration treatment?
No. Most clients resume daily activities right away. You may experience mild redness or sensitivity, but this should fade quickly. Our professionals will guide you through simple post-care instructions.
14. What is your cancellation and late policy?
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Same-day cancellations or missed appointments may incur a 50% service fee.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, we may need to shorten or reschedule your service to avoid impacting the next guest’s experience.
